There is a big difference between a composite door and a roll formed door. A composite door has two layers of steel, one on each side of the door. A roll formed door only has steel on the outside and no steel on the inside of the door. The picture shows a composite door with two layers of steel. It is almost impossible to tell which type of door you have without pulling the door panel off. But what you can do is make sure you have locking bolts on all four sides of the door. With bolts on all four sides, this will give you more protection from a crow bar attack even if you have a roll formed door. In our warehouse, we tested the pry resistance of a roll formed door safe without four way bolts. We used a two foot long crow bar and were able to open the safe in under three minutes. Many safe companies will claim a composite door, when in reality it is just a roll formed door. To protect yourself, make sure to at least get locking bolts on all four sides. Come see what we have in store and we can show you in person what the difference is and what to look for.
